Your Guide:

Arthur Wakes-Miller

Breathwork Facilitator, Freedive Instructor, founder and lead facilitator at Recovery Breath.

Arthur brings a wealth of knowledge and a trauma informed approach to his experiences and retreats.

He is living proof that your life can fundamentally change when you take conscious acknowledgement of the connection between your breath, body and mind.

Breathwork brought Arthur back from the depths of darkness, after losing his 17yr old brother Barney to road crime.

Experiencing the powerful shift first hand, Arthur created The Forge as an opportunity to step away from society, immerse in nature and connect to yourself and your breath like you’ve never experienced before.

“I attended the Recovery Breath retreat in the Blue Mountains, and it was an incredible experience! I left feeling so much more at peace and in tune with myself! 2.5 days of a carefully curated and well thought out itinerary which gently pushed us outside our comfort zone. Such a well run event with Arthur, Lili and the team behind them. Arthur is very knowledgeable and talented at delivering breathwork sessions and other healing and wellness techniques. The group of people were amazing and it felt like family! Highly recommend any of the workshops or retreats!”

FAQ

Who can join The Forge?

The Forge is open to all people, yet limited to a small group. Beyond the challenges of the experience, this is an open, caring, loving community environment. (Must be over 18yrs old)

What to expect of the accommodation?

The accommodation is an off grid Eco Lodge. The bedding configuration is shared bunk rooms, with a privacy curtain on each bunk. This configuration allows us to host the breathwork sessions from the comfort and warmth of your bed. Each room is heated by wood fire.

Do I need to bring food?

The retreat is fully catered. We will eat a range of healthy, nutritious meals, energising our days of activities. If you have any dietary requirements, we can cater to this too. Reach out to us via email or be sure to mention it when you purchase your ticket.

Snacks are optional.

What fitness level is required?

There is no required fitness level to enter The Forge. It is recommended that you are reasonably mobile to partake in activities such as hiking, river swims, river crossings and walking over undulating terrain.

What if I need to contact someone during The Forge retreat?

One fundamental aspect of the retreat experience is a full technology disconnect. Due to the nature of the experience and its remote location, there will be no cell phone reception.

To partake in the experience in its fullest form you will be offered to leave your phone and all smart devices with one of our staff members or locked in your vehicle for the duration of the experience.

We recommend you notify any important contacts of your absence and set up an ‘out of office’ automation for your voicemail and emails.

The technology disconnect will commence on Friday afternoon when we meet and continue until the Sunday afternoon towards the end of the experience.
